Foie
Gras is a speciality of the region, with its rich buttery
taste, it is best eaten with toast or a slab of bread, and
a glass of chilled sweet Monbazillac.
Eating
out in France can be a real treat, but without having to
cost a fortune. It should be a pleasurable experience savouring
the food and flavours, and should under no accounts be rushed.
Lunch
(déjeurner) is the main meal of the day, normally
served from midday to 2.30 pm.
The 'Menu Fixe' is likely to be the best choice with the
'Plat du jour', as it will have the freshest local ingredients.
There are a multitude of restaurants within the area catering
for most peoples taste. Often the most unassuming restaurants
can prove to be a real winner. A good sign is to see if
there are lots of local cars in the car park.
